Update: Sunday, March 15th
Hello everyone,
Just a couple of things that I wanted to update you on. I have enrolled you all into my IXL classroom to allow you to do your at home learning.
Your log in SHOULD be the same as any other classes that you use IXL for. If you do not know your login/have never used IXL, please EMAIL me ASAP.
Your first assignments will be going up tomorrow (March 16th) by noon. Again, these are due by Saturday (March 21) by noon. We have been instructed to call the parents of students not completing their assignments.

I would like to once again encourage everyone to sign up for the classroom remind. To do so Text @baisci to the number 81010. I am going to try to reach out in every way possible in our time away.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARD SCHOOL CLOSURE DUE TO COVID-19
Hello Students and Families,
On March 12th, schools were ordered to close down for three weeks, until April 6th. However, this does not mean that your education stops. You can expect to be given assignments to do online, from the comfort of your home!
All seventh grade science teachers will be using the following format for the next three weeks:
- Every Monday, by noon, we will post your weekly assignments on the blog. These will consist of NewsELA and IXL assignments.
- These assignments are due on Saturday, by noon.
- Each assignment will be graded based on completion and effort.
We have not yet used IXL in Science this year, so there may be some issues. I am going to take the time to enroll each of you individually, but please email me if there is a problem when you need to access your work.
In addition to your weekly assignments, we are asking that you continue to work on your science fair project on your own. When you return to school, we need a document which has the following:
- The science QUESTION you are investigating
- The HYPOTHESIS stated as an if/then statement
- The PROCEDURE to complete the experiment
- A list of MATERIALS needed
- RESEARCH about your topic
- The Independent variable, dependent variable and control variable.
The actual experiment does not need to be done at this time. We know many of you are working with a partner, and we do not expect you to meet with your partner in person. Everything we are asking you to work on can be done over the phone/computer.
All of these assignments will be put into the grade book, so they must be completed. This is your school for the next 3 weeks!
Please, do everything you can to remain safe and healthy.
If you want to chat with the best 7th grade science teacher you’ve ever had, I’m only an email away.
I will see everyone in a month!
Best wishes,
Mr. Bailey

Quiz Friday, March 13th
Hello everyone,
Tomorrow is Friday the 13th and the spookiest thing I could think to do is give you a quiz!
It will be a small summative quiz about Lesson 5 and the different types of variables in a Scientific Investigation. You have all of this information in your Interactive Notebooks.

Making Song Requests
There are times when you are working in class where I like to play music for you. While I use a pre-made playlist usually, I would like to give you the chance to make a request.
Requests can be made using the Google Survey HERE and will require you to be logged in to your school email account before making a request. Please be sure your request is appropriate for school!
