Hello everyone. I had an issue uploading the information for the homework. Because this was an issue that was my fault, I won’t punish you. The assignment will not be due tomorrow.

Photosynthesis Foldable
Hope everyone enjoyed their snow day! Unfortunately, because we lost a day of school, we had to do a little bit extra in class today. For homework, you needed to finish putting together and coloring your photosynthesis foldables. As promised, here is an idea of how your’s should look when finished (you will add colors though).
Paste on page 40B of your ISN (39B for 6th hour)
Photosynthesis of a Leaf (Bottom)
Photosynthesis of a Leaf (Top)
Enjoy your weekend.
REMEMBER: MONDAY IS OUR FIELD TRIP, PLEASE TRY TO WEAR YOUR PINK SHIRT DAY SHIRTS!
IF YOU ARE NOT PACKING A LUNCH, YOU MUST BRING MONEY FOR THE FOOD COURT!

Osmosis Brochures
Hello class!
I just wanted to give a couple of resources to help you in your research for your osmosis brochures.
For starters, here is a cleaner, more specific idea of what to include on each of the inside portions of the brochure. Osmosis Brochure
If you are trying to research the sodium (salt) and sugar amounts for a food or drink, please make sure you are looking up the correct size. Also, be sure that you are including the correct size of the item (like a 12oz. coke) in your brochure, so the reader has a better idea.
A good resource to use for your research is the “My Fitness Pal” website, where you can search by item.
Remember, these are due Friday.
I will see everyone in class tomorrow.

Science Olympic events for Friday, February 19, 2016
Another round of events done today everyone, nice job!
Today we tried to see who was able to hold their breath the longest, our overall winner was Suzanne S. She managed to hold her breath for longer than I could have ever expected, and unless she is incredibly sneaky, she did not break the rules. Trust me, I was sitting next to her when she did it.
Some groups also managed to find time for the push up competition, and our highest recorded amount there was Hassan C. with 64 push up!
Please, remember the importance of these activities class. It isn’t about who is the best, it was about testing out our own organ systems to see how they work and what they do for us.
On that note, make sure all the questions from both Thursday and Friday are finished this weekend. Even the two questions on the back of today’s sheet. Even if you did not do push ups, you are still able to answer both of those questions using the other 2 events.
Enjoy your weekend, see you on Monday.

Day 1 of the Science Olympics
Hey class,
Nice job today on the standing long jump activity. It’s safe to say that majority of you can jump significantly further than I can, I was impressed!
Remember, the homework!
Finish the back side of today’s lab sheet. For each Organ System please write 1-2 sentences explaining how it was used today.
Our furthest jumpers today were Conor W. and Alec P. with a tie of 251 cm.
Tomorrow’s activities will be revealed in class.
See you then!

Section 1.3 Study Guide
Hey everyone,
I had mentioned to you in class that because Section 1.3 was so short, I would not be providing a summary or a study guide to work on. However, that did not stop a student from creating their own and offering to share it with everyone else. So, thank you to Alyssa H for putting together this guide!

Wednesday, February 3rd Homework
Hey ladies and gentlemen,
Let me start out by saying I was incredibly impressed with some of the ideas and discussion you came up with today. It truly shows that you are thinking about science, not just memorizing!
Remember, today’s homework is to be done on PAGE 36A in you Notebooks.
You need to arrange each level from smallest to largest. After doing so, be sure to match the correct definition with the word. Lastly, you need to match the correct example with each definition.
If you lost your paper, you can find a copy of it HERE.
As always, email me with any questions.
