Week of May 4th Assignment

Hello ladies and gentlemen,

I would like to start by thanking all of you who reached out to congratulate Mrs. Bailey and I on the birth of our daughter, Evelyn. I could spend an entire blog talking about how great she is, but that’s not why we are here. To those of you who emailed me with questions, I am going to work through everything I have received to help. Please be patient as I do so, there’s about 6 days worth.

NOW, YOUR ASSIGNMENT(S)
To summarize, due May 8th (details below):
1) NewsELA Article assigned on google Classroom Today
2) Google Document from Google Classroom last week
3) Science Projects from… January

We are going to go back to doing a NewsELA Article this week, but I’ll explain why below!
A link to the Article assignment can be found on Google Classroom

The reason we are going back to NewsEla this week is because I wanted to give people a chance to also finish last week’s work.

Last week was your first real assignment completely on Google Classroom. For many of you, you had questions and did not feel confident in submitting your work until I answered them. However, I was not available to help and wanted to give you this week to finish and get answers from me.
If you did not finish last week’s Google Doc about Asking Questions, you can continue to work on it this week. I will still be reporting to your advisory teacher that it is not finished, do not argue with them when they tell you that!

Also do on May 8th (Friday) are your Science Projects. I have gotten many emails about these and I will try to help before they are due. As I said in class, though, waiting until the last moment will cause me to be very busy with my daughter.

If you have questions you would like to discuss directly with me “face-to-face” I will be available for a video conference tomorrow from 12-1, or another time if scheduled ahead. Just let me know and we will solve the problem.

Thank you again for your understanding in my absence last week, I will work quickly to get caught back up with you!

-Mr. Bailey (and Evelyn)
