Science Work for the Week of March 16th
Hello class, so begins our first week at learning through the computer. While you may be lucky enough to not have to listen to my voice, you still need to get some work done.
For each of these assignments, please be sure you are logged in to the correct account to complete them.
Both of these assignments are due Saturday, March 21st, by noon!
Your first assignment (please log in to NewsELA with your school gmail account):
The NewsELA article “How Does a Thermometer Measure Temperature?”
The assignment instructions can be found at the top of the article:
1) Read and annotate 10 times, at least 3 annotations must be connections to class activities (highlight class connections in green).
2) Complete the Quiz
3) Complete the Writing Assignment
Assignment Number Two: IXL
(If you do not know your IXL log in, please EMAIL me ASAP)
IXL Science Section B “Designing Experiments”
You will need to complete Lessons 1-5 in this section.
The IXL assignment is meant to give you additional information on designing and performing an experiment. This will help you to work on your Science Fair Projects over the three week period.
Everything above is due Saturday, March 21st, by noon!
Remember, when we are able to return to school, you will need to have the planning stages of your experiment typed up neatly and ready to be turned in as a summative grade.
You will need to have the following done:
- The science question you are investigating
- The hypothesis stated as an if/then statement
- The procedure to complete the experiment
- A list of materials needed
- Research about your topic
- The Independent variable, dependent variable and control variable.
If you require any assistance during the week, please let me know! I am still your teacher and I will always do what I can top provide you with the help you may need!
