Monday, April 13th
Hello everybody and welcome back from break!
I hope you all had a chance to rest up to the best of your ability during our week of. More importantly, I hope you all are remaining healthy and distanced! Still no baby on our end, but we are only 12 days away from her due date!
Now that we have been given the official order to remain out of the school building for the remainder of this school year, things are going to work a little different moving forward.
I would like to, again, stress to you THE SCHOOL YEAR IS NOT OVER, the school building is simply closed. You do not have a 5 month summer vacation!
Advisory Students
Each week I am going to start a direct conversation with the students who are in my advisory and their parents, regardless of if you finished your weekly work or not. This can be either through email, google hangout, or by phone call. If you are in my advisory, expect something from me soon to figure out the details.
Google Hangout
I am going to start scheduling google hangouts, by hour, this week. Once I have time slots figured out, I will email you an invitation to your school email. I will also post the schedule on here.
Assignments
Expect that the assignments are going to evolve to be a bit more involved than a simple IXL and NewsELA. That will not be the case this week, as we take the time to figure out student access to resources needed moving forward. This week, the work will be as it was before break.
That brings me to…
Assignment for the Week of April 13th
(This will be due April 18th)
IXL
Section H: Kinetic and Potential Energy
Lessons 1-4
You will need to score 80s to get full credit
NewsELA
You will be reading the article
Using the laws of motion to explain what happens when cars collide
You will have the usual assignments with this article
1) While reading the article, make the usual 10 annotations. Highlight three of these in green and connect them to ideas, experiments, or demonstration that we’ve done in class.
2) AFTER reading the article, complete the Quiz. This WILL NOT be reset, take your time and read for the answers.
3) Complete the assigned writing for the article.
I am looking forward to our Google Hangouts to actually be able to talk to everyone! Please, remain safe and do your best to stay on top of your work!
