Update Following Governor Whitmer’s Orders
Hello students and families,
I did a quick recording to update you on where we go from here. Yesterday, Governor Whitmer issued the order that school buildings are to remain closed for the remainder of the school year.
Students, you may have taken this to me that school is out for the Summer, that is not the case. Information is minimal at this point, and it is an ever-changing scenario, but I wanted to give you updates in areas that I am able to.
If you would rather read than listen, here is the basic summary of it.
Science Fair Projects
– You till need to do the parts that were assigned to you three weeks ago. This is something that can still be done at home, with minimal resources needed.
– Actually doing your experiment, buying materials, meeting with your partner, etc. is no longer something we are asking of you.
– If you are able to do your experiments in the comfort of your home, and you would like to, I encourage you to see it through!
Weekly Work
– Next week is Spring Break, you are on break. You will have no new assignments from me.
– If you have not finished the last 3 weeks of work, please do so.
– Those of you staying on top of your work, thank you!
Group “Hangout”
– We need to social distance ourselves, but only physically.
– I’ve had numerous emails asking if we can Zoom, my answer to that is no.
– We CAN, however, do a google hangout. You will need to be logged in to your school account to do so.
– This will happen after Spring Break.
That’s all I’ve got for you at this time. Enjoy your week off but remember, we did not close schools for you to go hang out with your friends. If we wanted all of you together, schools would not have been closed.
Take care of yourselves, be safe,
-Mr. Bailey
