Dearborn Robotics Event Volunteers
Hello families,
I’ve been asked to place this on my Blog to help find anyone willing to volunteer time to a robotics event being held at McCollough-Unis school in a couple weeks.
This event is important to the district to help make the robotics groups involved at the school become more well-known in the community. If you have any of the particular skills being looked for, or would just like to help out, please read below.
In less than 2 weeks, on Saturday, May 12, McCollough-Unis School will fill with 24 FIRST LEGO League Robotics teams and spectators!

We urgently need Dearborn leaders to fill key roles as Judges (20), Head Referee (1), Referees (6), Field Manager (1), Field Resetters (6), Scorekeepers (3), Pit Manager (1), MC (1), DJ (1), and Game Announcers (2). These jobs require advance registration, online training and certification, and a full Saturday, May 12, commitment (6:30 a.m. to 5:15 p.m.).
[AGENDA]
We also need a Production Manager to coordinate the Audio Visual System, 2 video camera operators, photographers, the MC, game announcers, and the DJ.
Less technical, yet essential, roles include: 1 scorekeeper assistant, 1 timekeeper, 2 score runners, 3 pit runners, 1 pit practice table coordinator, 3 pit practice table attendants, 1 pit technician, 3 pit monitors, 4 game queuers, 4 volunteer check-in, 4 team check-in, 4 Volunteer Room attendants, 6 door monitors-parking coordinators-security-information, 9 judge queuers, and 10 concessions workers.
If every Dearborn school furnishes
4
volunteers, we will have ample manpower!
The Mc-Unis PTSA always provides a spectacular complimentary feast for volunteers (breakfast, lunch, and beverages, 6:30 a.m. – 4 p.m.). Officially registered volunteers get a lanyard and event STAFF t-shirt,
and
official service credit and recognition.
We are counting on Dearborn administrators to enthusiastically join in the incredible fun that is FIRST Robotics!
Please bring your staff along, too! All FIRST events are free and open to the public. All district robotics teams are encouraged to attend!
