URGENT-Dearborn Robotics Competition Volunteers Needed

Families, I am one of the teachers in charge of the Bryant Robotics Team (along with Kathy Duquette) and we have our first event coming up on December 9th. The following is an email about the event, and a request for anyone willing to volunteer. While the message asks you to contact Kidada Simmons, please feel free to contact me as well.

Hello All,

The District is honored to be hosting 36 FTC (middle school teams) in a state qualifier AND an exhibition for 14 FLL Jr. (K-2) teams from around the state. (OK, a lot of letters there so please see the attached Press Release for details, but in short, this is a really cool and important robotics event at McCollough/Unis on December 9thAND WE NEED YOUR HELP!

We ONLY have 20 VOLUNTEERS signed up for our December 8-9 event and we NEED at least 120 VOLUNTEERS.

FIRST events are volunteer-driven. 99% of FIRST workers are volunteers.   Please recruit volunteers 13 YEARS OLD and OLDER.  Go to https://www.mcubots.us/volunteers  for detailed steps on how to register.

Try to have volunteers registered by MONDAY, NOVEMBER 27th.  FIRST requires that all volunteers go through screening/background check during volunteer registration.  It usually take about a week for each volunteer to be screened online.

ACTIVELY RECRUIT VOLUNTEERS by posting this information on your Snapchat, Twitter, Instagram, and blogs.  Family, friends, staff, students, and community members can all be volunteers.    Also, mention this during meetings with staff, parents, and community members. Try sending an e-blast to your building with frequent FRIENDLY REMINDERS in person and online.
