Week of 2/11 Update

Hello students and families,

I am so excited to be able to regularly update you on what is happening in our classroom through this blog. I will post as frequently as possible about what we are up to as well as hopefully share some student writing. This week, we begin our literature circle unit. Students are reading a book of their choice from a list of options. These books are:

• Coraline
• Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone
• Hatchet
• Freak the Mighty
• Walk Two Moons
• The City of Ember
• A Wizard of Earthsea

Students will be given class time each day to read their books. There are also online versions of these books that will be posted here and on Google Classroom for them to access at home if they get behind their reading schedule.

It is my hope that students will enjoy reading these books and it will make learning more exciting in our classroom. Parents, please encourage your child to read their books and complete the assigned work!
