Ms. Mitchell's 8th Grade ELA

Woo-hoo! Happy thursday! We probably will not get to finish everything on the agenda due to the shortened schedule. We will only read part of chapter 4 and the advice to Ponyboy might happen on Monday.

With the M-STEP schedule, students either had our class the 16th or 17th.

Starting today, I am going to be uploading the images from our daily agenda on the blog. Sometimes the agenda varies for different classes depending on if they are all caught up. For example, 1st and 2nd hour had different bell work today than hours 4-6. This bell work is what the majority of hours completed today. We will finish chapter 2 of The Outsiders on Monday. There will be a short quiz on chapters 1 and 2.

Hello students and families,

I wanted to update you on changes to the grading policy for this course. I will no longer accept late work past one week of it being due. This means that if you are missing assignments near the end of the card marking, you will receive zeros on these assignments. Starting now, if a student turns in late work, 2 points will be taken off for each day that it is late. It is my job to prepare my students for high school and I believe that these changes will help them get more prepared for 9th grade. If you have any questions please feel free to email me.
