What we did during our week:

Language Arts and Writing: We worked on recognizing and writing the letter J and the letter Q. Only 6 more letters to go! For writing this week we wrote about our star student, Louisa. We also wrote about our new class pet! While writing, we check for a capital letter at the beginning and punctuation at the end.

Math: We continued with our math centers and spent some time talking about how to use number lines in order to help us find the missing number.

Here are a few pictures of us at work during math centers:

Science: For weather, we continue to talk about what the weather is each day. Next week we will be doing science experiment rotations throughout all the kindergarten classrooms. They will get to make a cloud, shadows, a raining cloud, and dress for the seasons in each different room. We will finish up our weather unit on Tuesday by watching “Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs”!

Other: Meet Lulu & Tiny – our new classroom pets! We have some hermit crabs in our room now that we get to observe daily and occasionally let out of their cage to roam around on the carpet. 🙂 We learned some facts about hermit crabs, and wrote about hermit crabs this week!

Thanksgiving feast- We will be having our Thanksgiving feast on Tuesday, thank you everyone for donating!! As a reminder, this is for students only, no parents.
