Dear Families,

We have enjoyed meeting all your families and working with your children so far, this school. During the last two weeks Mrs. Naamat and I have been working with the students on getting used to the school routine. The students have started working on their centers and learning new circle time routines.

The week of September 18^th, students will be introduced to the letter A and things that start with the letter A and we will be talking about apples.  The students will be doing an art activity with apples and tasting different types of apples.

I hope everyone has enjoyed the first week of school. Mrs.Naamat and I have enjoyed meeting all of your families and we are looking forward to working with your families this school year 🙂 I would like to thank all the parents that have brought in supplies for our class. The supplies will really come in handy during the school year.

This week the students will continuing the welcome to school theme. The children will continue to become comfortable in school and learn the areas of classroom and the daily schedule as well as the classroom rules. We will also continue to let the children feel comfortable with all the new friends they will be making this week as well. The students will begin going over shapes and colors this week and will also find out how much they weight and how tall they are for our classroom book.

Dear Parents,

Just a reminder that Little Scholar students will attend school on September 11th from 12:55-1:55 with out their parents. On Wednesday and Friday the students will attend a full class session from 12:55-3:55 with out parents, this will be the start of the students regular scheduled class time.

Mini Scholars will attend Tuesday September 12 and 14th from 12:45-1:45 with out their parents for the soft start days. On Tuesday September 19th the Mini Scholar students will start their first full day of school from 12:45-2:45.

Dear Parents,
Welcome to the 2017-2018 school year at Haigh Developmental Preschool. We look forward to meeting all of you at our upcoming parent orientation. We are sure this will be a spectacular year filled with learning, friendships, and fun!

Your child is presently enrolled in the following class at Haigh:
____ Mini Scholars (Tuesday-Thursday AM, 12:45-2:45)
________ Little Scholars (Monday-Wednesday-Friday AM, 12:55-3:55)

We will be holding a PARENT ONLY classroom orientation in the preschool classroom at Haigh Elementary. If you are coming through the parking lot go too door number #9. If you are coming through the main entrance we are room #2 Orientation will be held on September 5th:

_______ Little Scholars 6:45-7:30
Please bring your parent handbook to orientation. We will use this time to review the handbook and discuss our classroom policies. Please remember this meeting is only for parents.

What to bring to parent/child transition day:
⦁ Health appraisal form. Please have this form completely filled out and signed by your doctor (front and back). Immunizations for students 3 years old before September 11th are: 4 DTP, 3 OPV, a HIB series, a HepB series, 1 chicken pox varicella vaccine (or dates they had the disease on the “Immunization Verification” form”), the Pneumococcal Conjugate, and 1 MMR. Immunizations for students 4 years old before September 10th are: 5 DTP, 4 OPV, a HIB series, a HepB series, a chicken pox varicella vaccine (or dates they had the disease on the “Immunization Verification” form), the Pneumococcal Conjugate, and 2 MMR. We MUST have proof, signed by a physician, that your child has had AT LEAST one of each of the above immunizations in order to attend the first day of class.
⦁ Child information form. Please be sure to complete ALL sections of this card.
⦁ Recent photograph of your child. This will be used for our classroom bulletin board.
⦁ Parent contract.
⦁ Parent financial agreement. Payment should be mailed or hand delivered on or before September 9th to Ten Eyck (Administrative Building) room 21.
⦁ Help us get to know your child form.
⦁ Birth certificate You may bring the original or a copy. It will be returned to you by the end of parent-child transition day.

Our first day of school begins on September 6th. On September 6th and 7th, you will accompany your child for a parent-child transition day. You will also turn in all your paperwork on this day. Friday, September 8th is a teacher prep day; there will be no class on this day. On September 11th (MWF),12th (TTH), and 14th (TTH) your child will come to child only transition days. These days are shortened to allow your child the opportunity to meet their teachers and become acquainted with their classroom.

First full day of class is Wednesday, September 13th for Little Scholars (MWF) and Tuesday, September 19th for Mini Scholars (TTH).
