Week of September 25-29 News Letter

Dear Little and Mini Scholar Families,

This week our theme will be fall and leaves we will be going over the different types of changes the occur with the weather during this time of the year. Also, this week we will be focusing on the letter Bb and Number 2. We will be having the new snack calendars out for October so please feel free to sign up.

Now that the students are becoming comfortable in the classroom, we will start with our me bags and story bags.  Every weekend two students will take home a me bag or story bag when your child gets this bag he or she must bring it back on Monday. This bag is like a show in tell bag. We will put instructions inside.  The story book bag will have a book for you to read with your child and a notebook for your child to draw a picture about the story. We go in alphabetical order when we send the bags home. This can be a great learning experience for you child because they will get to bring a part of their home life to school. This story book bags will help them become familiar with books and recalling what has happened in the books by drawing a picture.

We have been experimenting the last couple of weeks over the best ways to dismiss the children at dismissal time. We will be having the children sit at the tables and then have the sign out sheet on top of the cubbies and once you have signed your child out Mrs. Naamat or myself will call your child’s name. If the weather is nice we will have the parents line up outside the door, if not we will bring the parents in and you may line up alongside the left wall. Thank you so much for working with us on this, we have a much small dismissal area then we have had in the past, so we are trying to find the safest way to dismiss your children. If you have any question or concerns please feel free to talk with us.

Sincerely,

Mrs. Maria and Mrs. Naamat

Field Trip

Dear Families,

The Little Scholars and Mini Scholars programs will be having a field trip on Friday October 13th to the Plymouth Apple Orchard. The families in the little and mini scholar’s programs will be responsible for their own transportation to the apple orchard. The students must have one adult person accompany them on the trip (parent, grandparent, aunt/uncle, guardian). If you would like more than one parent to come or siblings the orchard is allowing that.
The arrival time for our field trip will be at 11:45. The tour will be about one hour and fifteen minutes. The tour will include a tractor pulled wagon ride through the orchard and the students will be able to stop and pick an apple. The students will also be able to pick one small pumpkin as well. The tour will end with cider and donuts.
The cost will be $7.50 a person. We will collect the money for the field trip in class. The money will be due by October 11th. If you have any question feel free to ask myself or Mrs. Naamat.

Thank You,
Mrs. Maria and Mrs. Naamat
