Dear Families,

I hope everyone enjoyed their holiday break J  this month in our Mini Scholar’s program we will begin working on our letters staring with letter Aa. We will also start working on our first names. When students come to class we will now have their name tags on the table and the student’s job is to find their name.  The students will be working on holding their pencil’s properly and learning the letter’s that are in their first name.

Our Little Scholar’s class will be working on writing their last names and the letters that are in their last names. The Little Scholar’s class is currently working their way through the alphabet we will be starting letter Nn.  Once we have completed the alphabet we will start introducing small site words to the students.

Both of our classes are working on the winter theme this month. We have been learning about the different seasons and what types of activities take place in winter. The students also have been working on sequencing and sorting.  Next week we will be talking about winter animals, and then at the end of the month we will begin talking about hibernation. The students will be having a hibernation/PJ party at the end of the month. I will put out a snack sign-up sheet next week.

In February both classes will be going on a field trip to the Westland gymnastics center. Once we receive our waiver forms from the gymnastic center we will give the information to our families and start collecting the money.
