New Letter Week of Jan 22

Dear Families,

I hope that all of your families have been having a great 2019 so far 🙂  In class we have been talking about winter and what types of activities take place in winter.  We have been talking about hats, coats, gloves and boots. Last week we talked about winter animals and Antarctica, we even turned our house keeping area into a bear cave, the students enjoyed this activity.

This week the students will be learning about the letter Pp and will be making snow.  In the Little Scholar class the students have been working on their new letter sound song.  The students are starting to learn the sounds of each letter.  Once the Alphabet is completed we will start working on site words.  The students are also working on letter and number recognition.  At circle time the students have learned how to count up to the number 100 and are also learning, equal, greater and less then.  The students are also working on their last name and cutting.

The Mini Scholar students are working their way through the alphabet and learning items that start with each letter.  Once we have finished the alphabet we will then start learning how to write the letters in the alphabet.  We are currently working on writing and recognizing the letters in our first names.  Each day in class after choice time the students are working on writing their name by tracing an outline of their name on a dry erase board, we are also tracing our names on our projects now as well.
