Students are learning the stick welding or SMAW process at the current time.  They are required to complete small summative projects that demonstrate their ability to weld the following joints: butt, lap, inside corner, outside corner, T.  Students generally have five full class periods to complete each project to the best of their ability.  The first project to be assigned will be welding a butt joint using 2 pieces of 1/4″ thick steel plate.  This project will be completed prior to the end of the first card marking
