Happy 4 day week!:) I hope you have some great plans for this long weekend coming up! We have this Friday (the 24th) off and Monday (the 27th) off.
Kindergarten is very busy for the next 4 days!
Important reminders:
Plant Part Soup: We are making our plant part soup tomorrow. Parents have signed up for all the ingredients we need! Please make sure to bring them today or tomorrow so we can make our soup!
Field Trip: Permission slips were sent home in red folders last week. Please let me know if you did not see a permission slip and I will send an extra today. Permission slips and money is due this Wednesday!
Reading Groups: I will be assessing for on various things for the next 8 days in Kindergarten. I may not be able to see all reading groups because of that. Please check reading bags. Even if I do not see reading groups, I am still encouraging all groups to select books at their level to bring home (it is such a critical time to keep reading right now!)
Donuts for Dads: More information will be sent home soon about this event coming up! Donuts for Dads will be on June 6th in the morning so you can plan accordingly!
Language Arts: We are comparing and contrasting adventures in fiction stories this week! In writing, we are working on producing another narrative piece. We have also been writing about school issues and taking a stand too (tying in Social Studies to our writing) Please keep practicing sight words and personal words at home. Practice making sentences at home too. Kindergarten should be able to produce 3 sentences at a minimum right now!
Math/Science/Social Studies: We are working on Module 5 Lessons 13-21 this week. Lessons 15-17 and 19 are being skipped in this module because this is content we have already covered. Continue to work on the homework pages at home! In science, we are making our pant part soup this week and discussing what plants need. Our lima beans are sprouting and we are continuing to make observations. In social studies, we are choosing a classroom issue to solve and coming up with possible solutions.
