Important Updates: There is a note coming home about Teacher Appreciation Week today!

Tuesday– Wear your teacher’s favorite color: Blue
Wednesday- Wear your teachers favorite team: Michigan State or Red Wings:)

Language Arts: We are reviewing characters, setting, and events in a story. It would be helpful at home after your child reads, to ask them who the characters are in the story, what is the setting, and what events took place (beginning, middle, end). In writing, we are finishing the year writing narratives. This week we are focusing on making a complete sentence before we start writing our pieces! Please keep practicing sight words and personal words at home! Practice making a complete sentence at home too! This will help them a lot this week!!

Math/Science/Social Studies: We are working on Module 5 Lessons 3-7 this week. You should have the homework already for this module, please let me know if you do not! The other module book (4) was sent home last week. Students do not need to keep these in their backpacks! You may take them out, practice any missing pages, or do what you’d like with them! 🙂 In science, we are observing our 4 different plants this week (some with water, some in the shade, some without water) and we are also growing lima beans and discussing parts of a plant! In social studies, we are making flags and discussing the common good.

They can write about what they did in school, family time, friends, practices, ect. Goals include capital letters at the start of the sentence only, punctuation at the end, spaces, and details in the writing. We should be at about 2-3 sentences on 1 topic.

Leader In Me
We will be having our first class lesson this week on Habit 6! I am also sending the red Leader in Me Bag home to a new student this week. If the bag comes home with your child, please return it by Friday!
