Welcome back! I hope everyone had a restful break:) Reminder: Conferences are this week on Wednesday! They are invite only- a blue note was sent home last week if you were invited to attend. A reminder note will be in red folders today.
** Please make sure your child is completing their nightly literacy homework and returning it colored and signed on Mondays. It is a very important step in order to prepare them for first grade. A new literacy sheet for April is coming home in folders today!
Language Arts: We will be working on author’s purpose and blending syllables this week. We will be learning that author’s write to Entertain or to Inform us. Ask your child this week after they read a story if they know why the author wrote it (to entertain or to inform). In writing, we are starting our informational research writing! I will need some parent volunteers to come in a couple of days to assist in the researching process. Please reach out to me if you are interested/available. Please keep practicing sight words and personal words at home!
Math/Science/Social Studies: We will be doing lessons 25-30 this week in math. We are still decomposing with number bonds. Please continue to do the nightly homework that follows each lesson. You can access the Eureka math website or use the parent tip sheet to help if needed.
In science, we are starting a new unit. We will be learning about living/non-living things. This week we will complete a living/ non-living station lab and discuss animals and what they need to survive. In social studies, we will be moving into our last unit.
