Update: This week before spring break, I will be doing a lot of assessing for report cards. Reading bags should be updated from last week. Since we are assessing this week, I will not be seeing my reading groups. New reading books will not be going home this week. Continue to read the books that I sent in their bags and we will start with reading groups right away once we return from break!
Language Arts: We will be working on finding unknown words in the text this week. A good strategy to practice at home is to ask “What does the word mean?” if your child comes across a word they do not know. We are learning to look at the picture for clues. We are also practicing rhyming words this week. This week is our last week of opinion writing. We are writing about our favorite books with supporting reasons why! Please keep practicing sight words and personal words at home!
Math/Science/Social Studies: We will be doing lessons 20-24 this week in math. We are moving on to subtraction! Please continue to do the nightly homework that follows each lesson. You can access the Eureka math website or use the parent tip sheet to help if needed.
I am finishing up assessments this week in science and social studies. Please look in folders because tests will be coming home graded!

Goals include capital letters at the start of the sentence only, punctuation at the end, spaces, and details in the writing. We should be at about 2-3 sentences on 1 topic.
