Hi Parents! There is a lot going on this week, please keep checking my blog to see any updates!
Keep checking the March is Reading Month Calendar linked below for what is going on daily!
Language Arts We are still working on silent e this week. By the end of the week, we should know all of the long vowels and how they say their name when we have the silent e! We are moving on from narrative writing, to opinion writing. We will be working on what an opinion is and how to find reasons to support your opinion. We will be reading a lot of great opinion books this week such as, ” I Will Never Not Ever Eat a Tomato.”
Math/Science/Social Studies In math, we are still working on number bonds and decomposing! We are doing lessons 10-15 this week. As the numbers get higher for addition, some students are struggling with this new concept. Please continue to do the math homework nightly. These skills are the foundation for what they need to do next year. In science, we are wrapping up our weather unit! We are learning about droughts and meteorologists this week. In social studies, we are expanding what we know about maps and where we live. We are discussing the United States and the concept of a map key and globe.
