Meet Mrs. Walters

Hello,

My name is Michele Walters and this is my 13th year teaching.   I graduated from the University of Michigan-Dearborn in 2004 with a B.A. in Elementary Education and a major in Early Childhood Education.  I taught preschool for several years and decided in 2009 to go back to school and get a M.A. in Special Education with a major in Autism Spectrum Disorder.  I graduated in 2011 from Madonna University and have been teaching special education ever since.  I absolutely love working with children that have special needs, especially children that have autism.  I am excited to be at Whitmore-Bolles and look forward to an awesome school year!

When I am not busy working, I enjoy spending time with my family.  My husband, Brian, and my daughters Mackenzie and Breena and my fur child Zoey (the cat) keep me very busy at home!  We love to spend time outdoors going for bike rides and long walks.  When I get a little “me” time I enjoy shopping for fuzzy items or anything that has a tail.  I am also a huge fan of New Kids on the Block and can be found dancing around my home many times during the day to their music!  I also love to do arts and crafts with my daughters and have recently spent the summer trying to complete a string art picture.  The key word there is I “tried”.

  1. Hello Mrs. Walters! I am so excited to read about you and your family. I truly enjoyed working in your classroom, the first week of in-session school after Labor Day. You are a great Teacher and just as lovely as ever. I’ve witnessed the educational growth of the students in just the four days I’ve worked with you. Please keep in contact with me and I’ll do the same with you. You are AWESOME!!!
