Remember when you were young and you just had to have a copy of the book your teacher was reading in class? Your teacher loved that book and made it special for you as well. I think of this as the gift of reading and have been excited about sharing this with our students at Henry Ford.
In each hallway you will find a small table with one of my favorite books. Next to it you will find a brief description and a personal connection or reason why I consider it a favorite. The purpose of these displays is to boost excitement about reading and I’ve asked teachers to share them with their students as they move through the hallways. Don’t be surprised if your child asks you to go to the library to check out one of my favorites…I promise that you’ll enjoy them too!
I will update the books every 2 weeks to keep things fresh so be sure to ask your child to tell you all about “Mrs. Meseroll’s Favorite Reads.”
