Congratulations to the students that completed the Winter Reading Journal! Students had to read everyday, as well as complete a written portion. I am so proud of you guys!

Students are revving up for our Math Challenge! Students worked in groups to answer two sets of multi-step Math word problems. Congratulations to the group that won!!

The week  before break was full of fun activities! Students had a great time frosting cookies, making gingerbread houses, and getting into the holiday spirit! We also had a special guest– Lila Berry!

The students have been working SO hard on writing! We have been focusing on informational writing- we are all improving little by little! I am very impressed with the class progress.

We studied combining mixtures with an activity using snacks!! (Students ate their own, untouched version of the “mixture” when we were done!)

Long Division!

We have started our long division unit!! You know what this means– using academic vocabulary and working together in order to be successful. You can see that our students love to help each other solve problems, from sharing strategies, to remembering the steps! IMG_8126IMG_8138IMG_8129IMG_8127IMG_8135IMG_8136

Students work collaboratively in order to succeed in Math workshop. This includes  speaking with one another, using appropriate content level vocabulary words, and using strategies. Don’t forget about the complete sentences!! They did a great job!!!!
