Responsible!

This is an excellent song for remembering how to show respect at school! Here are the lyrics if you would like to sing along:

I’m able to respond, I’m able.

I’m able yeah response-able.

I’m able to respond, I’m able.

I’m able yeah response-able.

No matter what the outside throws at me (oh)

I’m choosing to react responsibly with

Decency, fairness, honesty, respect,

discipline, justice, courage and respect,

integrity, compassion, morality respect,

humility, kindness and did I say respect! Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah!

RESPONSIBLE!

You’re able to respond, you’re able.

You’re able yeah response-able.

You’re able to respond, you’re able.

You’re able yeah response-able.

No matter what the outside throws at me (oh)

I’m choosing to react responsibly with

Decency, fairness, honesty, respect,

discipline, justice, courage and respect,

integrity, compassion, morality respect,

humility, kindness and did I say respect! Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah!

RESPONSIBLE

I’m responsible for what I do, I’m responsible for what I do!

I’m responsible for what I do, I’m responsible for what I do!

Action have consequences don’t you see!

Choose your behavior, act responsibly with

Decency, fairness, honesty, respect,

discipline, justice, courage and respect,

integrity, compassion, morality respect,

humility, kindness and did I say respect!

Yeah, yeah, Responsible!

Welcome to McMusic!

Welcome to the McCollough Elementary Music Blog! I am Bree Rafferty, the new music teacher at McCollough. I teach K-5 General Music and I LOVE it! This year students in my class will sing, dance, and play instruments including recorder, xylophones, rhythm sticks, keyboard, triangle, claves, cow bell and guiro. They will learn music vocabulary, musical form, and how to read and and perform musical notation and rhythms. We will have fun creating our own melodies and rhythm patterns too! This is my seventh year teaching and I have a degree in Vocal Performance and a teaching certificate from Wayne State University. I love to sing! Please feel free to pop into the music room any time to say Hello and see what we are learning!
