Content Objective: Students will demonstrate understanding and evaluation of the process of how Siddhartha Gautama became the Buddha.
Language Objective: Students will read the Siddhartha text #5 and then talk about the key events in the story with their groups. Groups will then draw the story of Siddhartha Gautama from their memory using only pictures…no words!

Find the main idea from each paragraph
Classwork:
With your table, find the 5 most important events from the story of the Buddha.
Have one person draw a rough draft of all five events
You will get 5 large sheets of paper, each person at your table must draw a key event from the story.
Your groups will walk around and rank the best representation of the story. (Drawn the nicest, you are able to tell what each event is, etc)
Winners will get the choice of 2 tractor tickets or 5 extra credit points on the first test.
