I’m back…I am looking forward to meeting each and everyone of you. There are so many new strategies to learn. I hope you are as excited as I am. We have numerous new routines and procedures to establish. It will take us a few days to get to know one another, however, I am sure this will be a very productive 2017. I will be inviting all parents to come and meet me and go over all new expectations. We will all need to work together and very hard to be successful. See you soon…
Wayne County Regional Enhancement Education Millage Proposal
School districts in Wayne County have placed a proposal on the November 8th ballot to provide added funding for our schools. It is the “Regional Enhancement Millage Proposal.”
If approved by the entire county, the 2 mil proposal will generate approximately $6.2 million from Dearborn but the District will receive $7.8 million in additional funding for our schools. Money would go to local schools starting this year and the millage expires after six years. Read more

November 2016
Well, another Halloween has come and gone. I thought I would be back to school by now. However, returning back requires quite a bit of stamina on my part. Although I am stronger than before, I am still struggling with going up and down stairs. So, I hope to be back very soon. Hang in there kids…”I’ll be back…”

Welcome Back!!!!
Yes, it is that time again. I hope you had a fun restful summer. The fourth grade suggested supply list is at the top of my blog. I look forward to working with your child this school year. The fourth grade curriculum is rigorous and we will have to work together to insure success for your child. Your child has the ultimate responsibility. You and I will do all we can to support him or her. I do not give a lot of homework, but do expect your child to do work daily in school. When I give homework, I expect it to be done thoroughly and thoughtfully. Together, we can make this the best year ever. I look forward to meeting you.
Happy Summer….
It has been a very successful year. I am very pleased with the progress my students have made. I could not have done it without the support of my students and their parents. I thank you for allowing me to teach your child. It has been a privilege to be a part of your child’s life.
I feel so bad that I was not able to be there the past few days. I have been in great pain all year and due a an additional fall, I was unable to be in class. I am very disappointed that I could not be there. I know the kids were, too. You have my email so let me know how your summer is going.
Have a great summer…happy traveling…and keep reading everyone. Get on Myon and Moby Max this summer.
It’s not over yet….
There are several countdowns going on that lead up to summer vacation. However, we still much to learn and do. Our NWEA testing is complete. Please ask your child about their results. Some have made great improvements. And some, did not make as much as we hoped. It is crucial that you keep your child reading, writing and doing Math over the summer. The expectations are getting higher and curriculum more rigorous. We will be starting the M-Step this week. It is imperative that your child gets to school on time, gets a good night rest, and eats breakfast. We will taking this assessment for the next couple of weeks. Also, we have a field trip to Greenfield Village scheduled for May 17. Also, there are many end of the year activities coming up so please stay tune.
Thanks for all the Teacher Appreciation Cards and flowers.
Spring 2016
Spring is here…and for most of us spring means warm weather, sunshine and time to plant flowers. However, for teachers and students, it is a time for our final assessments. Your child will be taking the final NWEA, M-Step, district exams, and chapter tests. It is important for schools and teachers to determine how much progress your child has made. It is an opportunity for us to determine if what we are teaching is sticking with your child. Please make sure your child gets enough rest and breakfast in the morning. These tests are long. Several students have a hard time staying focused. I will try to give them breaks, and perhaps a snack if needed. We all need to do our part to insure the best outcomes. Thanks…enjoy the season….
Spring is here…
Well, it sure seems like spring. No more snow…clocks have been turned forward…spring break is almost upon us…third quarter report cards are done and yes final assessments are on the horizon. Yet, I have reminded my students even though all these things are going on, we are never “done.” They will tell you, never say the “D” word in class. So dig down and let’s end this year full speed ahead. There is a lot more to learn and do. Enjoy the Ride!
