Everyone should have received SRI and Star Math results. This assessment will be given again in January and then in May. Your child needs to show progress, so keep them reading and writing every night. If you have any questions or concerns, please let me know.
Thanks,

MEAP WEEK…
Hello Parents and Students…This week we will be taking the MEAP on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings. PLEASE make every effort to get your child to school on time. Also, students need to get a good night sleep and eat a good breakfast each morning. Our schedule may change a bit, so I don’t know if and when we will have a snack. There is no eating if test booklets are out. We will be switching our special schedules with the kindergarten, first and second grade. Therefore, we will take MEAP in the morning and specials in the afternoon. Don’t be surprised if there is little homework this week. Thanks for your continued support.

Weekly News…9/30 – 10/4
This week will be our last week for MEAP Practice and Review. I would like to remind parents to sign your child’s planner everyday. We will be starting PBIS this week. If your child gets their color flipped, they will not have their name read at Town Hall. If that patterns continues, they may not be participating in Rewards Day. Our spelling program is different this year. Students are given a skill and 5 content words on Monday. For example, last week the skill was long and short I. All words had a short or long I in it. Students won’t have words to study, but should be practicing the pattern and the 5 content words given to them on Monday. This is the last week of MEAP tutoring. Tutoring will start up again after MEAP, but the criteria may change for eligibility. Students took Star Math and SRI this past week. Letters are going home sharing the results with you. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me.
Thanks for your continued support…

Thank You!
I would like to thank the parents and students who were able to make it to Open House. It was wonderful meeting you. A few reminders….
Please sign planners every day. I will write a note every Friday, so you will updated on your child’s progress. Also, I will be sending home a copy of your child’s Star Math and SRI scores. Please review them and if you have any questions, feel free to contact me. Thanks for your continued support.
Just a few reminders….
Please check your child’s planner every night and sign it. It is meant for you to see the night’s homework and make sure it gets done. Also, I will write notes in it on Fridays to keep you updated. We all need to work together. We have been doing some MEAP review in class and some of the homework will reinforce the kinds of problems that your child will see. They should bring it home and it would be wonderful if you asked them about their daily work.
Thanks…Mrs. McBain
