Report cards went home today. If you have any questions, please feel free to email me or call and I will get back to you as soon as possible. I will be setting up some conferences, probably next week. The third grade teachers are trying to coordinate a common evening. Attached to the report card was the most recent Star Math results. Also, attached was the SRI (Scholastic Reading Inventory) assessment. If your child was advanced proficient or proficient, they were not given the test. They will be given the test again in May. If your child was given the test, then you will see the progress they have made.

Today’s homework:
Finish the paragraph on Benjamin Banneker.
Page 81 # 1-3 and page 83 # 1-6.
Some groups have literacy. Please check with your child.

Students who say they have no homework should read every night. We are working on multiplication, so get some flashcards. Also, we are beginning cursive, so they can practice writing.
—Thanks for your continued support!

Winter Break…..

AS winter break begins….a packet of graphic organizers, websites, basic sight words, editing marks, etc. for you to help your child become a better reader and writer. The packet was explained in detail at the parent meeting we had in December. Students should work on this at their own pace but on daily. They can bring it in as they complete the work to show me their progress. The websites include Math activities, too. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me through email or this blog. Thanks enjoy the break….and keep reading and writing.
