Dear Parents,
We hope you had an enjoyable and restful summer. We certainly did. It always seems like summer goes by way too fast. However, we are very excited about this school year. We look forward to meeting our new classes and their parents. This is going to be a great year.
Every year our nation, state and school district expect more from our students. We are trying to prepare them for the future. We will do our best to meet those expectations, but we can’t do it alone. You and your child will need to work with us on these challenging standards. We believe if we work together, we can accomplish anything.
The third grade teachers have decided to switch for some of the academic classes. We feel this will help your child prepare them for upper grades, and help us focus on one content area. Of course, if your child needs any additional help, all three of us are available for help and support. Students will be given homework on a regular basis, but only to reinforce the skills we are working on. We will share many resources with you so that you have the support you need at home.
We will continue to use the PBIS program. It is behavior program that focuses on reinforcing positive behavior. It is very effective and encourages students to make good choices. It truly puts the responsibility on students. Every month we will have a Town Hall recognizing students who make good choices and a Reward Activity for those who have earned it. Notes and additional information will be sent home soon.
We look forward to a very productive year for your child. We look forward to meeting up with each of you at a meeting in the near future. We will be very specific on how you can help you r child while we work with them in class.
