We are working on power point presentations focused on various topics from the Dark Ages. Students will present their slides to the class on Tuesday March 19th.
We will also begin reading “Sir Gawain and the Green Giant” this week. The test for Sir Gawain is March 21 st.
Students are being asked to fill out the attached survey by Friday, March 1st. The survey is anonymous, so please be as honest and upfront as possible in order for the data to be accurate.

This week we will be using the writing process to compose our own memoirs.
The memoirs should be complete by Monday February 11.

We are focusing on characterization as well as theme to start off the week.
When we have finished characterization we will begin working on “The Scholarship Jacket”.
We are presently reading “A Christmas Carol” focusing on sequence in plot as well as characterization.
We will spend December 13 to December 19 reading the six scenes of the drama.
December 14th we will have an assessment on the drama.
This week we are focusing on figurative language as well as theme.

This week we are starting with a test on “Pro Athlete’s Salaries” then we will be writing our arguments in class.
This week we are reading two sides of an argument-“Pro Athletes’ Salaries Aren’t Overly Exorbitant” and “Do Professional Athlete Get Paid Too Much?”
In class we are evaluating the arguments’ claims and assessing whether the reasoning is sound.
There will be a test on the two selections on October 26th.
October 1st- our first test, “What Do You Know About Sharks?”
October 2nd- vocabulary for “Great White Sharks”
We will continue working on informational text features and begin investigating author’s bias as we read “Great White Sharks.”
Questions page 926 (1-6) will be due the end of class Friday, number 7 is extra credit.
Test on “Great White Sharks” will be Monday October 8th.
