Spelling Words 10/16

The skill we are working on is S-blends. A blend is 2 letters that make up one sound.

*In addition to these spelling words, feel free to have your child practice more s-blend words. On the spelling test they will get 4 “cold words” that they haven’t practiced all week. They should be able to apply the skill that is being taught all week.

  1. spin
  2. slip
  3. skid
  4. stone
  5. stand
  6. stem
  7. sleep
  8. first
  9. what
  10. who

The bold words are the sight words. These words are not part of the skill we are working on. These are words your child should know how to read by sight (without sounding it out, because they are normally rule breaker words) and how to spell by the end of 2nd grade.
