Challenge words are for extra credit. If students get the challenge words correct, they will get an extra point, but they will not lose points for getting them wrong. Have fun challenging your brain!

There will be a meeting of parents who would like to be involved in refining procedures for arrival and dismissal on Monday, September 19 at 6:00 PM in the Media Center. All are welcome to participate.
There will be a spelling test on Friday.
Open House is on Thursday, September 15th from 6:00-7:30 p.m.

Hi Parents,
Thank you for your patience as we work out our new Arrival and Dismissal procedures. Effective Tuesday, Sept. 13, the following changes will be in place:
Kindergarten – Line up on the Culver side of the school. Kindergarten classes will enter and exit the building through the doors in the kindergarten wing.
1st grade (including Mrs. Grizzell’s 1/2 class) – Line up on the Culver side of the school. The classes will continue to enter and exit the building through Door 1.
2nd grade – Line up on the Houston side of the school. The classes will enter the building through Door 11 as they have been doing but will exit the building through Door 10 (the back lobby door).
3rd, 4th, 5th grades – No changes. Line up on the Houston side of the school. Enter and exit through Door 11 unless other arrangements have been made with the teacher or through the office.
If you need to have an older student pick up a younger sibling, we have made arrangements for Safety Patrol students to walk your older child to exit at Door 1 or Door 10 but we need to have that request from a parent. Please contact the office or teacher in writing (email or note) to let us know if you need us to include your child.

We will be having Show and Tell every Friday! Students may bring in one item to talk about with the class. This is a great way to work on self confidence and public speaking skills. Some suggestions are: a special stuffed animal or toy, a trophy they won, a favorite book, a baby picture, etc. Thank you!
