Today a very important survey was sent home with your child on orange paper. Please take a minute to fill it out and send back to school with your child tomorrow. Thank you in advance!
Classroom Events
- Voting, Tuesday, March 10th
- 1/2 Day Friday, March 13th
Curriculum:
Math:
- 5th Grade – Students will continue to multiply and divide fractions.
- 4th Grade – Students will continue adding and subtracting fractions then extend fraction equivalence to fractions greater than 1.
Reading – Students will compare and analyze accounts of the same topic.
Writing – Students will continue to write comparison/contrast essays.
Social Studies:
- 4th Grade – Students will be learning about the government of the United States.
- 5th Grade – Students will be joining Mr. DeSantis’ class for Social Studies this year. Their first unit of study will be an introduction to the Constitution and rights of citizens.
Science:
- 4th Grade – Students will finish up our unit on Sound Waves.
- 5th Grade – Students will be joining Ms. Sherlock’s class for Science this year. Their first unit of study will be the Structure and Properties of Matter.
Spelling:
All classroom spelling lists, activities, and tests will be online this year. Students will be given spelling words on Monday each week and tested on Friday. Please see this document to learn how to view your child’s grades. Students are expected to study their words at home each night. Here are some ideas on how to practice words with your child, Spelling Practice Ideas(please note, the directions on it do not apply).
Dear Snow Families,
We are noticing an increase in traffic congestion along Culver at dismissal. Cars should not be waiting or parked in the bus lane. You may be ticketed. Officer Krakowski will be present at dismissal.
There is parking available on Houston, Ash and Texas. Please get here early enough to park your car and walk over to meet your child.
