This year we will still take the NWEA but it will be done at home. Students will be required to be online with me while they take it. We will test from 8:55 am to 10:30 am Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday this week. I will inform you of next week’s schedule but it will most likely be the same.
I’ve attached a Parent Letter that has some links from NWEA to help you better understand how this will work.
Starting Wednesday, please:
- Make sure your child has had a good breakfast and taken a bathroom break before the 8:55 ZOOM Meeting.
- Have them login to the meeting using the normal ZOOM link promptly at 8:55.
- While students are testing, they will need to keep their microphone and video camera off. This is being done to preserve bandwidth. Communication will take place via the ZOOM chat feature.
- They will not need a parent/guardian with them while they test (in fact we discourage it). You are free to carry on with your day 🙂
- Have your phone nearby, if your child is not working, I will call you and ask you to check on them. We only have until October 9th to complete the test so we must use our time wisely!
- If you need to contact me during the test for any reason, the best way will be via email.
Thank you for all of your support this year. The students have really done a great job of adapting to this new way of learning and I am very thankful for all of you!
