Week of May 11

Posted by on May 11, 2020

Hi all,

The weather was not as expected of May, but I hope you still had a great weekend. For this week, we will continue with our online learning and will follow the same routines as the past three weeks.

LA2 students:

We are reading “The Open Window” this week. All materials you need to complete this week’s assignment are in iLearn under “Assignments-Week of May 11”.

I uploaded two versions of the short story: The original version and a modified (simpler) one. If you want to challenge yourself, I recommend reading the original version. Still, if you struggle with it, you can read the modified one.

I also uploaded an audio and a short video of the story for you to enjoy and achieve better understanding of the plot and characters.

To complete this week’s assignment, click on “The Open Window” Assignment, open the attached document, make a copy, and then type in your responses. Read the assignment directions carefully before you type in your answers.

Remember to complete your mandatory check-in by Tuesday midnight. You need to type your questions in the response box provided. You cannot submit your questions after Tuesday midnight. If I do not hear from you by then, you will lose your participation points for this week.

If you need more help or one-on-one support from me, email me and we can arrange for an over-the-phone conference or a google meet at a time that works for you and me.

ELL 2 Students:

Read the passage and question set assigned to you in ReadWorks. If you have any questions you can type them in the response box under the Mandatory check-in in iLearn.

Remember, you need to complete your mandatory check-in no later than Tuesday midnight or you will not earn your participation points for this week.

If you need more help or one-on-one support from me, email me and we can arrange for an over-the-phone conference or a google meet at a time that works for you and me.

Good luck for all of you and stay safe.
