Hey guys! Check out the below link for a YouTube tutorial on how to make your own SQUASH BOOK. Some of you started this with me in class last week, but you can ALL – 6th, 7th, and 8th Grade students alike – make one at home with some simple materials. Let me know if you have questions! And post a picture of your finished book in the comments below for us all to see! I’ll take a few of your shared works and post them on my Instagram too!

新年快樂! Happy Chinese New Year, or, Lunar New Year! Today in Middle School art we talked about what Chinese/Lunar New Year is, how it’s celebrated, and how red is a lucky color in Chinese culture. Then we celebrated by making some patterned Chinese lanterns. Here are a few student examples from our work:

Halloween Art!
Posted by Mrs. Kruger On November 6, 2019
Halloween is definitely over but I still wanted to share some of the SUPER awesome student artwork we made during that week.
These were silhouette sharpie drawings on coffee filters that we painted with watercolor. I LOVE the finished results.
And as an added bonus – me dressed as a crayon!
