8th Grade

Below are links to worksheets that you might be missing. We use the same Self-Reflection and Peer Critique worksheets for each project, so if you are missing any of those you can download the below and return to Mrs. Kruger in class.

The ELEMENT Worksheet is also below. Choose a LETTER and draw that letter in each box, USING the element for that box. Use SHAPES to draw your letter. Draw a letter that has a TEXTURE on it. Draw two letters that either overlap to show SPACE.

Let me know if you have questions!

28th Annual Empty Bowls Dinner

All are welcome – students, parents, families and friends! Your donations will be donated to Gleaners Food Bank and Blessings in a Backpack!

Color Wheels!

I love this project – the student work is always so pretty! I just love a good color wheel. So 6th Grade has been working on color wheels using radial symmetry. We practiced coming up with designs that used radial symmetry, we talked about the color wheel and different color schemes. Then we combined our learning to create our final work!

Cardboard Masks!

Our 7th Grade 3-D class has been studying masks across various cultures and time periods – how they are made, what they look like, what purpose they serve. We finished by building our own masks out of cardboard! Here are a few amazing student works:

It’s INKTOBER!

INKtober – October. Make an ink/pen drawing each day of this month, and turn it in to Mrs. Kruger on Friday November 1st to win a prize! The drawing topics are shown – use the word shown for each day of the month to inspire your work. Example: for WILD, I could draw a wild animal – a tiger in a jungle maybe! Happy drawing!!!

ELEMENTS OF ART

We have been learning a lot about the Elements of Art the last couple of weeks in our 7th and 8th Grade classes – what the Elements are and how to use them. We practiced using each of the Elements to design creative letters.

Students still working to complete their Element letter worksheets will find extra blank worksheets to download, and examples of each Element below. Make sure to come up with your OWN letter design for each though.

Sketchbook Challenge

Every month I present a sketchbook challenge to students. I will post (in class and on the blog) a daily list of topics and prompts that you can make art about. At the end of the month, you can turn those drawings in to Mrs. Kruger and be entered to win a prize!

Each month is a NEW challenge. This is a great way to practice your drawing skills, have some fun, connect with Mrs. Kruger and share what you’re working on at home, and maybe win a reward! 🙂

Check out the MONTHLY SKETCHBOOK CHALLENGE page on the blog for more info!

WORKSHEETS

If you are missing either the WELCOME TO ART Worksheet or the SUPER SLEUTH Worksheet, they are attached below. You can complete these assignments and turn them in to me before end of day Friday for full credit.

Not sure if yours is missing? Check Student Connect!

ALL ABOUT ART Part 2: HW

Below is the SUPER SLEUTH WORKSHEET for download if you need another copy. IF you did not finish this in class (*3rd Hour and 6th Hour) then you need to finish it at home and turn it in on Tuesday.

If you see yesterdays blog post or go to the CLASS INFO PAGE, you will find the syllabus and grading rubric – these will help you answer some of the questions on the worksheet.

ALL ABOUT ART!

Happy Back to School everyone! Below you can find my classroom syllabus and the rubric I use to grade student art work. These documents will explain the focus of each class, our classroom rules, what students need every day and how they are graded. Any students who didn’t get a chance to complete their WELCOME TO ART Worksheet in class, can use these documents to finish up at home!

Please feel free to email me directly with any questions! 🙂
