We had a great month back to school after our winter break. Went spent a lot of time exploring polar animals. Children were able to play with polar bears and penguins in the sensory table with icebergs. They used real tools to measure each other’s height and compare it to the height of a female polar bear. We even made polar bear “paw prints” and compared the size of our hands to the size of a polar bear’s. They loved using measurement tools and we hope to provide more opportunities to use these soon!
As you’ve likely heard, our assistant teacher Miss Seena will not be returning. I recognize this has been a challenging year for the kids (and parents of course), but they are learning wonderful skills like flexibility and understanding. I am so proud of them for their resilience, and so thankful for all the support and understanding you have offered as well. We hope to have a wonderful new assistant in the upcoming weeks! The kids have really enjoyed Ms. Donita subbing in our classroom. She even was able to take them to the gym and play some new games with them. They could NOT stop talking about how much fun they had.
Looking forward, we will be celebrating Valentine’s Day on Monday February 14th. You can review the attached letter about our Valentines Celebration. Conferences will be Wednesday March 2nd and Friday March 4th. Children will not attend school these days. I have attached a google document for conference time slots. Please be sure to sign up for a conference time below.

We will be talking about feelings and emotions, self-esteem, and the five senses in February. We will be moving into slanted line letters, R, K, A, and V.
Thanks for all you do.
