In November we focused on our friends and family, how to be friendly with each other at school, and giving and being thankful. The children really took these conversations to heart and have been showing us kind behaviors with one another and wonderful manners. Some of our November highlights were making bear hunting maps to go along with the story We’re Going on a Bear Hunt, creating our Thanksgiving friendship snack mix, and making each other friendship bracelets.
In December, we’ll be discussing hibernation and hibernating animals, winter clothing, and gingerbread men and winter celebrations. Please let me know privately if you have an issue with your child reading books that include Santa Claus or the Christmas holiday.
The children are doing well with getting dressed and undressed for outdoors independently, although we are still practicing, so please be patient as we work through this difficult task. Please dress your child for outdoor play in all weather. If there is snow on the ground, boots are required to play outdoors. We will plan to go outside most days. To better social distance in the classroom, we have moved things around and are limiting the number of children in each area at a given time. Additionally, we have assigned new seats for snack and for meeting on the carpet. We also plan to limit snack time to 15 minutes, to limit the amount of time spent indoors without a mask on. Thank you for continuing to keep your child home when they are not feeling well. We appreciate your cooperation in helping to keep everyone healthy. Please let me know if you have questions or concerns regarding health and safety in the classroom.
Looking forward:
We will be having a winter pajama party for our last day of school, Friday 12/17. The kids have been asking and asking when they can wear pajamas to school, and we FINALLY have planned a day! Please have your child wear their favorite winter pajamas to school that day.
We’re having a wonderful time with your children. Thank you for your involvement and support.
