Weather April 8 – 12

Dear Parents,

Welcome back!

This week we will learn a new letter “Uu” and introduce the number 8 and color blue.  We will also talk about the wacky weather that Michigan has.

If you have any vacation requests or exit forms please return them as soon as possible so the office can get those in and you can receive a credit.

There is no school Friday, April 19 for the Easter holiday.

Our last day of school for the year will be Tuesday, June 11.  We will have exit forms for you to sign, so you will receive credits for the rest of the last week of school.

Land Before Time March 25 – 29

Dear Parents,

This week we will learn a new letter “Tt” and continue with the number 7 and color green.  We will also talk about dinosaurs.

March is reading month and we would like to know what everyone’s favorite book is:

Wednesday, March 27 is Haigh Elementary Kindergarten round up.

Thank you for coming to the parent/teacher conferences.  If you asked for a form(vacation, exit or registration) and did not find them in your child’s backpack, please ask for another.

Spring Break week will be Monday, April 1 to Friday, April 5.  There will be not school.  We will return to school on Monday, April 8th.

Thank you to John and Maya’s mom and Mariam’s dad for coming to read to us.

Spring Has Sprung March 18 – 22

Dear Parents,

This week we will be reviewing our letters  and continue with the number 7 and color green.  We will also talk about spring and what happens during that season.

March is reading month and we would like to know what everyone’s favorite book is:

Thank you to all of you that brought in a green snack.  The favorites were the apples and grapes.  The not so favorites were broccoli and pickles.

Thursday, March 21 and Friday, March 22 are parent/teacher conferences.  There will be no school these days. Please park on the street and use the back door(classroom door). The conferences will run about 15 minutes.

Wednesday, March 27 is Haigh Elementary Kindergarten round up.

If any of you would like to come and read a book to the class, please let us know.

Green is Everywhere March 11 – 15

Dear Parents,

This week we will be learning a new letter “Ss” and a number 7 and color green.  We will also talk about things that are green and St Patrick’s Day.

Dental Health February 18 – 22

Dear Parents,

We will be reviewing our letters this week and continuing with the number 6 and color pink.  We will also be talking about our teeth and how to keep them healthy.

We are sending the Ages and Stages questionnaire home again.  Please fill them out and return them to us by Monday, March 11th.

If you think your child is not feeling well; fever, runny nose and coughing, please keep them home.  This will prevent the other children from getting sick and their teachers.

Healthy Hearts Feb 4 – 8

Dear Parents,

We made it though the snowy, cold and crazy week, last week!

This week we will learn a new letter “Pp”, a new number 6 and a new color of the month; pink.  We will also talk about how to keep our bodies healthy.

Nour has the “All About Me” binder this week and Alexander has the binder next week.

We will be having a Valentine exchange on Thursday, February 14th.  Please have your child write their name on them, but do not write who they are for. There will be a sign up sheet on the clip board at the end of this week.

There will be NO SCHOOL on Friday, February 15 and Monday, February 18.

A Longs Winter’s Nap Jan 28 – Feb 1

Dear parents,

This week we will learn a new letter “Oo” and continue with the number 5 and color white.  We will also talk about hibernation and what animals are lucky enough to take a long winters nap.

We would like to do a hibernation project this week, not knowing what days we will have school because of the extreme cold, please have a paper grocery bag and a small stuffed animal in your child’s backpack.

We will not be sharing the “All About Me” binder this week.  Next week Nour will have the binder.
