Native Americans, Pilgrims and Turkeys, Oh My! November 18 – 22

Dear parents,

This week we will introduce the letter “Ii” and continue with the number 3 and the color brown. We will also talk about everything Thanksgiving. Next week(our 2 day week) we will talk about families and how different families celebrate the holiday and we will also review our letters.

When the weather is snowy and muddy outside, have your child bring an extra pair of shoes or slippers to change into. This will help with keeping our classroom dry and clean. Please remember to send snow pants and boots, so we can go outside.

We will be having a child friendly feast on Tuesday, November 26th. There is a sign up sheet on the clip board if you would like to bring something in.

There will be NO SCHOOL on Wednesday, November 27, Thursday, November 28 and Friday, November 29 for the Thanksgiving holiday. Happy cooking, eating and shopping!

Eduard shared the binder with us this week and Hudson will share with us during the first week of December.

On the Go November 11-15

Dear parents,

This week we will introduce the letter “Hh” and continue with the number 3 and the color brown. We will also talk about things that help us to get around.

Thank you to all of you that helped with the fundraiser and donated!

When the weather is snowy and muddy outside, have your child bring an extra pair of shoes or slippers to change into. This will help with keeping our classroom dry and clean(I can’t believe I have to put this in the newsletter already!)

In case of school closing: check the news stations. We are part of Dearborn Public Schools so if they are closed we are also and you will receive a credit.

On Monday, November 18, wear “disney” clothing for Mickey’s birthday!

We will be having a child friendly feast on Tuesday, November 26th. Watch for a sign up sheet on Tuesday, November 19th.

There will be NO SCHOOL on Wednesday, November 27, Thursday, November 28 and Friday, November 29 for the Thanksgiving holiday. Happy cooking, eating and shopping!

Candy corn, election and the letter G November 4-8

Dear Parents,

This week, we will introduce the letter “Gg”, the number 3 and the color brown. We will also talk about voting and what kind of graham cracker the class likes.

Please work with your child at home with putting on their coats and zipping them. This will teach them independence and it will also help us out too. Teach them also to put their mittens/gloves and hats in the sleeve of their coats when they take them off.

The children seemed to enjoy their day inside, even though the weather wasn’t very good outside for Halloween. Thanks for all the goodies.

There is NO SCHOOL on Tuesday, November 5th because of voting.

Christina will share the binder with us this week.

Just a reminder, the Hungry Howie’s fundraiser is due by Friday, November 8th.

October 28-November 1 Spooky Friends

Dear parents,

This week we will review the letters “D. E and F” and continue with the number 2 and the color black. We will also talk about spooky friends.

Please work with your child at home with putting on their coats and zipping or snapping them. This will teach them independence and it will also help us out also.

On Thursday, October 31st, your child can wear their costumes to school. Please no make up, weapons or extra pieces. If your child does not have a costume, they can wear something from our dress up area. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask.

Christina will be taking the binder home this week and sharing next week.

There will be NO SCHOOL on Tuesday, November 5th. Everyone go vote!

We sent home our Hungry Howie’s fundraiser, check your child’s backpack. Please start selling pizzas and return order form with one check by Friday, November 8th.

October 21-25 Scary Fun

Dear parents,

This week we will learn the letter “Ff”, continue with the number 2 and the color black. We will also have fun making some spooky friends.

While the weather is still comfortable, we will be going outside. Please make sure your child has the appropriate clothing to go outside in the chilly weather to get some fresh air.

On Thursday, October 31st, your child can wear their costumes to school. Please no make up, weapons or extra pieces. If your child does not have a costume, they can wear something from our dress up area. There will be a sign-up sheet on the clipboard on Thursday.

October 14-18 Fall Again

Dear Parents,

This week we will learn the letter “Ee”, continue with the number 2 and the color black. We will also talk about the fall again.

We have had a lot of our friends out sick lately because of fever,stuffy nose and coughing. For the protection of all the children and staff please have your child stay home until they are fever free for 24 hours without fever reducing medication.

October 7-11 Stop, Drop and Roll

This week we will learn the letter “Dd”, the number 2 and the color black. We will also talk about fire safety.

The “worksheets” that the children bring home, are for you to know what we are learning and practicing in school.

On October 31st, your child can wear their costumes to school. Please no make up, weapons or extra pieces. If your child does not have a costume, they can wear something from our dress up area. There will be a sign-up sheet when the date gets closer for snack.

September 30-October 4 Up and Away

Dear Parents,

This week we will review the letters; A, B and C and continue with the number 1 and the color yellow. We will also talk about space.

We are having spirit week this week:

Wednesday: Just what we need to get through the week, Pajama day! Wear your pajamas and slippers(bring extra shoes for outside).

Thursday for our space week, dress like an alien.

Friday is picture day! If your child is not scheduled on Friday, you can bring them yourself and have their picture taken. Come at 8:30am and go to the gym.

September 23-27 What is Autumn?

Dear Parents,

This week we will introduce the letter “Cc” and continue with the number 1 and the color yellow. We will also talk about Autumn(fall) and the signs of the season.

Please have your child go to the bathroom before coming to school. We have been spending a lot of time in the restroom in the morning during our work time.

Dearborn high and Edsel Ford high schools are having spirit week next week for their homecoming. It’s not fair for the older kids to have fun so we will have our own spirit week:

Monday: wear the colors of this month(yellow) and next(black).

Tuesday: wear your craziest outfit you can come up with!

Wednesday: Just what we need to get through the week, Pajama Day! Wear you pajamas and slippers(bring extra shoes for outside).

Thursday: For our space week, dress like an alien.

Friday: Wear school or collage cloths.

September 16 – 20 Shapes

Dear Parents,

This week we will introduce the letter “Bb” and continue with the number 1 and color yellow. We will also talk about shapes around the room.

Please make sure that your child is eating breakfast in the morning before school. We have some friends that are asking for snack when they start school. We have snack around 10:45 or 11:00.
