Yesterday the third graders learned all about fire safety. If you don’t have smoke detectors in each bedroom and floor you can contact the fire department and they will install them for you.

Don’t forget, tomorrow is our field trip. Please bring in a bagged lunch that can all be thrown away.

We will be holding two parent meetings to discuss expectations, curriculum, and more. A letter is going home today. There are two times/dates so please select the date that works best for you.

Also, this Friday the 2nd and 3rd graders will be going on a field trip. A permission slip is coming home today. Please return these as quickly as possible. We will need parent volunteers so if you are available please join us!

I have a few updates about things happening at our school for the rest of this week.

First, tomorrow (Thursday 9/13) we will be starting the Math NWEA rest. Children should go to bed early and make sure to eat a good breakfast in the morning. We will continue this test Friday morning (9/14) and next week if we need to.

Second, tomorrow night we will be having an open house at the school from 6-7:30. This is a great time to meet all of your child’s teachers (including me!) and enjoy some popsicles! I look forward to seeing many faces there!

Finally, Friday (9/14) is a half day of school. There will be no lunch at school and students are dismissed at 11:45.

Our class worked very hard as a team last week and made it to 200 points on Class Dojo! Because of this, we will be having electronics day today. The students will bring in their electronics (phone, tablet, etc.) and we will get to use them at the end of the day. They will be locked up until it is time to keep them safe.
