March 24

Week of March 23rd

Even though I already posted this on Class Dojo, I wanted to make sure that we had access here on my blog as well in case Class Dojo ever has connectivity errors (which could happen with an influx of people now using the site for online learning).

Online Learning 3/23-3/27

We made it through your first week of online learning! Some adjustments have been made to our weekly schedule now that I can see what is working and what is not. Here’s a short breakdown of our schedule:

Math:
Continue completing the workbook pages and Zearn. I’m hoping students can get through 4-5 lessons per week (a lesson a day).

Writing:
Students will be typing up their space stories and turning them in Wednesday. They will use their organizers to make a full story. Thursday and Friday will be spent making thank you letters for our medical professionals who are diligently working still.

Reading:
Continue using Epic as a great way to read books. Also use Edmentum (on clever-the “e”) to go through reading and language lessons.

Science:
Included during our creative time, use the links to watch lessons on Mystery Science. Then, complete the extra hands on activities included if you have the time, these are FUN!

Please make sure students are getting on daily and not trying to cram all of this into one day.

It was so great to see many of you yesterday during our Teacher Parade through the neighborhood. I miss you dearly! I have my fingers crossed that we will be back together in the classroom soon!
