Week of March 2nd
It is that time of year again, March is Reading month! Throughout the month of March we will celebrate reading in many different ways including: assemblies, guest readers, and literacy night. If you would like to come in and be a guest reader for our class (they love when family surprises us by coming in to read!) please just send me a message on Class Dojo and we will find a time/day that works well. Here are a few important dates to keep in mind.
-March 2nd is the very beginning of March is Reading month. We will celebrate with a kick off assembly. Our theme for this year is “Reading is Out of this World.” This same day after school the superintendent will be joining us at McDonald to answer any questions and have conversation with the community. This is a great opportunity to chat with him if you have any questions or would just like to hear more about our school district. He will be available at McDonald at 5:30 in the auditorium. All are welcome to attend.
-Thursday, March 5th, DTE will be coming in for a presentation with our 3rd-5th graders.
-On Friday, March 6th we will have an assembly by Michigander Doug Scheer.
-Monday, March 9th will be literacy night from 5:00-6:15. There will be many different space-themed literacy activities for the whole family to do!
Because of the snow days last week we will continue with the same grammar and spelling words for this week.
Also, in case you missed it, our 3rd graders did an AMAZING job at their choir concert on Friday at McDonald. They then traveled to Fordson High School and got to perform with the National Arab Orchestra. Check Class Dojo for pictures, this was such an awesome opportunity and something I’m sure they’ll never forget!
