Hello Parents,
I hope you enjoyed a restful and safe week. In order to make lesson plans and daily tasks easier for you and your children, I created a Google Classroom for students to complete the assigned work so that I am able to automatically check for completion and provide feedback. I will send individual messages with directions and the class code.
Also, we will be using E-spark (online program that provides K-5 reading instruction at each student’s level). I assigned all the students, and I will send individual messages with the student log-in information.
Today, teachers will be meeting with Principal Mrs. Srour, to address and discuss how to proceed with creating lesson plans that can be used for the rest of the school year. For now, please continue working on Zearn and ReadWorks until I get a directive from Principal Mrs. Srour.
Thank you for all the support and have a great day!
Lesson Plans update
Spring Break
Hello Parents,
HFES will be closed virtually during Spring Break. I hope that you and your children enjoy the week off from Monday, April 6, 2020, to Friday, April 10, 2020. We will resume lessons after Spring Break, and I will keep you all updated.
In case you would like your kids to read during Spring Break, I am going to share with you a reading resource link. I know that some students are very interested to learn about animals in the ecosystem (We were working on this science unit before the schools were closed). The following link also includes activities that are suitable for all ages. Thank you and have a great break!

Fun Literacy Challenge
Hello Parents,
I hope you are doing well and staying safe. I understand that things are difficult at this time, as a parent you have to balance between your jobs, homeschooling your kids, and taking care of daily life necessities. Please the most important thing is to take care of families and stay safe.
Have your children do as much assignment as they can, and always ask me questions and send their work for my feedback.
Ms. Meseroll, the reading and writing coach, asked me to share with your children a fun literacy challenge. This is an optional assignment and not mandatory.
I love reading and writing so much that I’ve been thinking of creative and fun ways that we can read and write together while you’re learning from home.
To participate in the Arby Challenge, please do the following:
*Watch my video
*Check out the article, “Basic Dog Care for Kids”
*Watch the pet care videos
*Write me a letter to share the most important thing that I should do to make sure that Arby is a healthy and happy dog. Be sure to include details that support your opinion.
*email your letter to meseroc@dearbornschools.org

Week 2 Lesson Plans and Daily Tasks
Hello Parents,
I hope you are doing well and staying safe. The purpose of the lesson plans and daily tasks is to keep your children connected to schoolwork/learning activities during this time. Please make sure that your children work to complete the lesson plans daily.
Let me know if you have any questions or in need of clarification! Thank you and have a great day!
Chromebook WIFI Error
Hello parents,
This message pertains only to families that borrowed a Chromebook from Henry Ford School and are having login issues.
Here are a few tips we have found to help resolve this issue.
1. Verify user is logged out of their account.
2. Restart Chromebook and attempt to connect to the WIFI network from the login page.
It may take a few attempts in order for this to be resolved. This is because it has to load new settings put in place to allow the device to connect to an outside network.
Thank you,
