Wednesday

Hope everyone is enjoying themselves and working hard.

Please send me a message or leave a comment I miss my students and would love to hear from them. Today’s story is The Three Billy Goats Gruff so listen, laugh and enjoy. Since it is supposed to be nice today I want everyone to go outside and count all the cars you can see in 1 minute, whether driving or parked. Then count all the squirrels and/or birds you see. Compare them and decide which has more. Make sure you are having a conversation about the story, the count outside and one of you daily activities at home.

  1. Practice Writing.
  2. Practice Reading.
  3. Playing outside(social distanced) and ABC fit kids using 2 family members names.

Tuesday Trip

Today’s trip will be a little more challenging but also fun. You need to watch and listen to my read aloud of Polar Bear, Polar Bear then at they end you need to act out each of the animals. Finally, pick your favorite animal from the story or not and make me a representation of it and tell me why you like it. (paper, crayons, markers, pen, playdough, snow, mud, scrapes of anything… use your imagination)

Now count all the animals in the book and put it in the comments. (Hint they are all in the book more than once)

  1. Practice Writing.
  2. Practice Reading.
  3. Playing outside(social distanced) and ABC fit kids using 2 family members names,

Week 2

Hope everyone had a great weekend! I’m still waiting on some responses to the Throw Back Thursday activities. I got an awesome photo of a schedule 1 family made to stay on a routine while at home. The routine helps to still get some academics mixed in with the other fun stuff and giving the child some control.

Today we are going to add a daily ABC gross motor chart. This will help the children stay healthy and practice their upper case alphabet.

Throw Back Thursday

In honor of Throw back Thursday today I would like you the post a picture of you when you were a baby. Then I want you to write(draw) and tell an adult 3 things about the picture.

  1. What you are doing.
  2. What you were thinking.
  3. Describe how you are feeling.
    • Why you think you feel that way.

Now for some fun! It’s time to make play dough. You will be able to use it daily over “the 3 stay at home days”, consistency in language. This is a recipe I have used, next week I will find my school recipe which has been perfected of the last 12 years. 🙂

Small Batch Playdough

1 cup flour
1/3 cup salt
1/2 cup water
2 teaspoons canola oil

Mix the dry ingredients first, then slowly pour in the wet ingredients. Knead until smooth and store in a covered container. If desired, add a few drops of food coloring to the wet ingredients before adding to the dry.

  • Find something you can wear that is green.

Take a picture of some of the things you found!

Some Active Activities

Go Noodle is something we use at school for some active activities so please have the children try some everyday. This is some information they sent out today.

Parents, Guardians & Caregivers

GoNoodle is awesome fun for the whole family! We love it when everyone does our dances, sings our songs, and plays GoNoodle together. It’s a daily ritual in most elementary schools across the U.S. (and many around the world) and we think it’s a super fun thing you can do with your little ones every day too!  Plus, we have another app called “GoNoodle Games” that is an awesome way to get your kids moving in front of the screen. Sign up for our emails and in the days and weeks ahead, we will send you weekly fresh, fun ideas for you and your kids well-beyond GoNoodle. Sign up to get these on the Good Energy page.
