Skittle Science

Skittles are coated in food coloring and sugar. When you pour water into the circle of skittles the color and sugar dissolves into the water and then diffuses through the water sending the colors inwards. The reason that the colors meet in the middle of the plate and do not mix is because each color has the same amount of sugar content. No color is heavier or thicker than another.
