Writing Prompts!

Hey Becker and Haigh students! Here are some fun writing prompts to try at home.

Movie Monday– Write about your favorite movie.

Travel Tuesday– Write a story about your favorite vacation. Use sensory details: sight, smell, hear, taste, and touch.

Wacky Wednesday– Write a silly story. Make sure to add dialogue to bring your characters to life!

Thoughtful Thursday– Write a letter to a family member or a long text message with emojis thanking them for something they did, or your favorite memory with them!

Fun Friday– Write a story, a comic strip, or a graphic novel based on your own superhero!

Here is a scavenger hunt for you to do outdoors!

  1. Find something round.
  2. Find something green.
  3. Find at least two sticks.
  4. Find something that blows in the wind.
  5. Find a bird.
  6. Find something purple.
  7. Find an insect.
  8. Find 3 rocks with different colors.
  9. Find 3 different leaves.
  10. Find something that is your favorite color!

Here is a sample schedule to help guide your daily routine at home.

8:30 Good Morning! Wash your hands and eat breakfsat.

9:00-10:00 Math Becker students work on pages in your math workbooks. Haigh and Becker students go to Zearn, Prodigy, or Freckle online for math. You can also use my youtube videos just type learning lessons with Mrs. L in the search bar.

10:00-10:15 Brain break and snack Wash your hands and eat a healthy snack.

10:15-11:45 Reading You can read a book, go on websites like Raz kids, stoylineonline.net, Tumblebooks.com, and Haigh students if you can login into iReady do two lessons.

11:45-12:15 Lunch Wash your hands and eat healthy food.

12:15-1:00 Free time go outside, listen to music, play a board game.

1:00-1:30 Science or Social Studies Go to mysteryscience.com, brainpop.com, or kahoot.com.

1:30-2:15 Art/ Music Listen to music, draw pictures, color in coloring books, create crafts. Haigh students 3rd-5th grade go to Google classrooms and do the art assignments.

2:15-3:00 Writing write stories, poems, letters, create stories on google slides

3:00-3:35 Gym play outside or do exercises indoors

Dear Haigh Students

Hi Everyone,

If you are 2nd-5th grade please continue to practice your typing club lessons at home, and if you are able to login in to iReady at home then I encourage you to do 2 lessons a day. Try your best and remember your goal of 80% or higher!

If you are Kindergarten or 1st grade please continue to practice educational games on abcya.com, starfall.com, or pbskids.com
