Aug 31st Welcome Back!

I hope you all had a fun and restful summer break. It’s been a summer like no other, however I hope you made the best of it. I hope you’re ready to get the school year started. Even though this year will be a little different, we’re still going to have a lot of fun. One online social studies expectation is to be ready to learn. Have all your supplies ready and everything that you need in order to have a successful year. Another expectation is to be on time. It’s very important to be on time to class so that you don’t miss any important information. It’s going to be a great year and I’m so excited to meeting all of you.

Wow!! What a wild school year this has been!! You should be proud of yourselves. All this hard work you put in is going to pay off. However, we’re still not done. This is the last week of school and if you have any missing assignments this is the week to get them done. Please continue to work hard and finish up any missing assignments.

Hello Everyone,

I hope all of you are well. After doing some grading this week, I’m still seeing a lot of missing assignments from many of you. Please check your student connect and make sure you get those assignments turned in. For the students who turn in work every week. I want to thank you all for working so hard and making sure everything gets turned in on time. GREAT JOB!!

This week we will continue to look at chapter 10. Chapter 10 discusses Mayan traditional culture. Your assignment for this week is to write a 5-7 sentence paragraph about the traditional culture of the Mayans. Then, you will write another 5-7 sentence paragraph about YOUR traditional culture. Finally, in the 3rd paragraph you will make connections between your culture and the Mayan culture. How are they the same? How are they different? Please include 3 – 5 pictures from each culture.

Hello Everyone,

I hope you all had a great weekend. This week we will be focusing on Chapter 10. I want you to start on your vocabulary squares for chapter 10. Complete them using google docs or google slides and then share them with me. Once you are done with the vocabulary please go on and read sections 10.1, 10.2, & 10.3. Please read carefully, because you will have some comprehension questions that go with the reading. Also this week we will have a virtual meeting on Wednesday and Friday at 3pm. We will discuss any questions that you may have.
